Losing Someone that Matters!
“It's not what we have in life
but who we have in our life that matters” ~Margaret Laurence
And Reading through conversations of someone you lost,
someone who mattered, is always painful. When you realize they are happy and
complete, and you realize that you are incomplete without them. Some turn around
looking for a second chance, some move forward and some stay where they are.
Confused, troubled, and struggling to escape, they can’t move neither back nor
front. If the person they lost was there with them, they might be happy. But if
they go for a second chance, their loved ones might be sad which is not
something they will be wanting. But without them, their lives are incomplete.
What should they do? Suicidal thoughts, loneliness, anger, loss of purpose of
life, depression, hopelessness, and other many feeling haunts them…maybe one by
one…maybe all at once. Some hold back from suicide…some fail to and end their
lives…few others get lucky and get a second chance in life. For those who are
holding back…it seems the whole universe is against them…nothing is right…this
feeling of hopelessness hits hard…and this turns to loneliness and maybe
depression catches them too… for some who overthink, fear of losing them might
have some consequences. Many of these may seem happy or fine and occasionally
sad. When you seek the reason, they may say something usual other than the
reason for the loss. You may only know if they have lost someone when you have
gained their trust. Otherwise, they will seem normal.
Friends, parents,
siblings, or even psychologists or councilors, are all there to help those who
think they can’t move forward or feel
stuck. Go to someone you trust…speak up to them…let the weight out… and also if
you are listening to someone. Let them complete before you say something. Give
advice only if they asked to. If you have some similar experience. Share that
with them…never compare them to others. Even if you think you can’t help them
and they still turn on you…lend an ear…just look at them and listen….even that
can make a difference. For everyone goes through difficulty. Whoever you be,
wherever you be, we will all go through difficult times… after all life is not
just simply living. It is a journey of dilemmas and diversions!
