Over Thinkers!
Thoughts and behavior of an over-thinker can be quite interesting. For instance, think someone fought with their mate who knew each other for a long time. One of them blocked the other on social media and incoming calls. A normal thinking person would be like “I think I should apologize” and so they will apologize. But for a person who overthinks, a heap of questions and possibilities will appear, like “should I apologize? Even if I did will he forgive me? Even if he did forgive me, will things be back to normal like old times?” and so like a spider web, a question from another question will start to pop up. Some overthinking people will limit themselves and try to remain calm. Some speak up to people and ask others what to do. Sometimes they go “out of the schedule” and hold them back from doing something. For instance, if a person who overthinks wants to publish her first book, questions like “will people accept my book? Will it raise issues? Will there be grammatical issues in my book regardless of times I edited my book?” and so on and may result in holding back from publishing the book. She might publish the book later but might delay. Then some overthink to a point making themselves stressed out. They worry a lot, become anxious quicker. There can be times where they lose their sleep, appetite, and interest in doing something they liked. Times where they cry all day. For them, it might be hard to open to someone. Fear of judgment is one reason many find it difficult to open up.
Some people see over thinkers as a nuisance and they can’t be trusted. The behavior of a person who overthinks can seem unusual to a person who doesn’t. People often tend to judge this character, which is not something over-thinkers like. Just because someone overthinks doesn’t make them a liability. With proper help, they can be your biggest asset!
Over-thinking can actually be beneficial. Overthinking positive thoughts can uplift your mood. Due to the possibilities, you come up with, you can be able to see from a wide perspective and understand more. You can see perspectives and possibilities and make yourself ready for anything, being stronger and more confident. Overthinking can also be a way to self review your self. Overthinks can actually be trained to be yourself to be a skill to create wonders!
If you know someone who overthinks, try not to judge them... Be open to them... Share your experiences and positive thoughts with them. Be cheerful around them. Show them you do care for them. In such a manner they could feel safe around you and could open up to you. If they do so, be a good listener and listen till the end instead of interrupting in between.
Overcoming your Overthinking is just like crossing the road, look both sides, feel safe and when the right moment comes, reach the other side. Open up to those whom you trust, make yourself busy by engaging yourself in activities you enjoy, try breathing exercises to remain calm. And soon you will show the world you are an excellent personality!
